In the second inning of Wednesday’s Padres-Rockies game, Rockies starter German Marquez hit right fielder Hunter Renfroe by a pitch sending him to the hospital with bruised ribs. Padres pitcher Luis Perdomo didn’t like that and in the third inning threw a pitch behind Nolan Arenado who’s a three time All-star. Nolan Arenado charged the mound after having the pitch go behind him and the benches cleared. Both starting pitchers were tossed from the game; there were five ejections in total.

The Yankees and Red Sox also got in a bench clearing brawl too, this one happened in the seventh inning. Red Sox pitcher Joe Kelly hit Tyler Austin because of a spikes-up slide up earlier in the game. Austin slammed his bat down at home plate before going to the mound. Austin and Kelly were both ejected from the game and Yankees third base coach Phil Nevin was too.
