NEW ALBUMS

SLIPKNOT – WE ARE NOT YOUR KIND

One of the most anticipated rock albums of the year (by a band who isn’t TOOL) is Slipknot‘s sixth album, We Are Not Your Kind.

It’s their first new album in 5 years. Their ferocious, single “All Out Life” does not appear on the the US version of We Are Not Your Kind. You’ll have to track down a Japanese import of the new album if you want to include “All Out Life” in your album-listening experience.

One of the best rock albums of 2019? Critics sure think so!

NEW SINGLES

THE DARKNESS – “ROCK AND ROLL DESERVES TO DIE”

“Rock and Roll Deserves to Die” is the first single and lead off track to The Darkness‘ sixth album, Easter Is Cancelled (October 4).

Bassist Frankie Poullain explains:

A lot of bands have relinquished their duty. Rock and roll is so uniform now. Everybody dresses the same, looks the same, sounds the same. It’s pathetic. It deserves to die. Let’s kill the cliché. Let’s break the crucifix. That’s partly what the album is about.

NOEL GALLAGHER’S HIGH FLYING BIRDS – “THIS IS THE PLACE”

Noel Gallagher released, arguably, his best solo offering in 2017 with this third album, Who Built the Moon?

This week, he announced the arrival of his second EP of the year. Black Star Dancing EP was released on June 14. This is the Place EP will be released on September 27; one week after brother Liam drops his sophomore solo album, Why Me? Why Not.

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE – “I AM BROKEN TOO”

A couple weeks ago, Killswitch Engage released the new single, “I Am Broken Too”, from the upcoming Atonement album.

This week, they’ve released the official video for the song.

PIXIES – “CATFISH KATE”

Pixies‘ third album in 5 years, Beneath the Eyrie, is scheduled to be released on September 13.

“Catfish Kate” is the second single from the album. The album’s first single, “On Graveyard Hill”, was released in early June.

REFUSED – “BLOOD RED”

It’s been 21 years (!) since Refused released their hardcore classic album, The Shape of Punk to Come.

War Music (October 18) will be their second album since reuniting in 2014. This week, they released the new album’s first single and video.

TOOL – “FEAR INOCULUM”

It’s gradually becoming a reality! It appears as if Tool will actually release their first new album since 2006!

The album has a title (Fear Inoculum) and an album cover. However, some Tool fans on social media still refuse to get their hopes up. Not until the album is lovingly held in their own hands.

Until then (August 30th), there’s a brand new Tool song!

UNDERØATH – “WAKE ME”

Underoath released a new video yesterday for “Wake Me”, which the fourth single from their 2018 album Erase Me.
