WEEZER are on a roll when it comes to releasing new music. In an interview with the Danbury News Times, singer RIVERS CUOMO said that the new Weezer album would be in stores on September 13th. That's less than a year since their last album, Raditiude, was released, on November 3rd of 2009, and only three months after the band released "Represent," their anthem for the U.S. World Cup soccer team.
Cuomo said he hasn't come up with a title for the album yet -- he joked about calling it "Heavy Mental" -- but he did say, "There's definitely going to be more raw rock energy on this one." This will be Weezer's first album released independently since their contract with Geffen Records expired in 2009. Cuomo said that the band will sign with an indie label to be announced at a later date.
