The tribute was revealed during a special event recognizing Scott’s lasting impact on rock music. The mural joins other pieces of public art in the laneway, continuing a tradition of celebrating the legendary band in one of Melbourne’s most recognizable music landmarks.

Bon Scott fronted AC/DC during the 1970s and appeared on several of the group’s most influential albums before his death in 1980. His distinctive voice and energetic performances helped shape the band’s early identity and left a lasting mark on rock music around the world.

The latest addition to AC/DC Lane reflects the continued admiration for Scott decades after his passing. Fans visiting Melbourne now have another landmark to explore as the city continues to recognize one of Australia’s most celebrated rock icons.

Braithwaite said it had become increasingly physically challenging for him to sing comfortably, and that performing no longer brought him the same joy it once did.

He first rose to fame as the lead vocalist of Sherbet before building a successful solo career that made him one of Australia’s most recognizable singers. Over the years, he became closely associated with songs including “The Horses,” which remains one of his best-known recordings.

The decision closes a live performance career that stretched across 58 years and included concerts, tours, and festival appearances. During that time, Braithwaite maintained a strong connection with audiences in Australia and beyond.

In his announcement, he thanked the fans, musicians, crew members, promoters, and others who supported him throughout his career. The news was followed by messages of appreciation from listeners and fellow artists reflecting on his long place in Australian music.

The singer said the procedure was a complete success and that he is already feeling significantly better as he continues his recovery. Hall explained that the kidney came from a living donor and expressed gratitude for the support he has received throughout the process.

The Released Parties are not responsible for: (a) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by Station, Sponsor, entrants, printing errors or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest; (b) technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to malfunctions, interruptions, or disconnections in phone lines or network hardware or software; (c) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Contest; (d) technical or human error that may occur in the administration of the Contest or the processing of entries; or (e) any injury or damage to persons or property that may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant’s participation in the Contest or receipt or use, non-use or misuse of any prize. The Station will conduct the 93X’s “TTW – THE PIT – POPPY TICKETS – JUNE 27, 2026” Contest (the “Contest”) substantially as described in these rules, and by participating, each entrant agrees as follows:
