First Avenue is the most iconic venue of the Minneapolis music scene. It brings to mind The Replacements, Hüsker Dü and, of course, Prince‘s Purple Rain.

April 3, 2020 marks the 50th Anniversary of the legendary Twin Cities nightclub.

Fifty Years! It’s something to be celebrated! That was the plan. To celebrate with mind-blowing, sold out shows; such as a reunited Golden Smog (Jayhawks, ex-Soul Asylum) in the main room, and The Hold Steady in the 7th Street Entry(!).

Unfortunately, those shows were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But you couldn’t let the 50th Anniversary of one of the greatest music clubs come and go without conviviality.

So, it was decided to bring the celebration indoors. A unique opportunity to watch a live concerts from the comfort of your own couch. To watch performances and special appearances from those who have always, and will always, hold the iconic rock institution in their hearts.
