TYLER RAMSEY & CARL BROEMEL – CELESTUN
On their collaborative debut album, Celestun, veteran guitarists Tyler Ramsey (formerly of Band of Horses) and Carl Broemel (My Morning Jacket) weave together a predominantly instrumental song cycle recorded almost entirely on acoustic guitars. The record strips away artifice to highlight the duo’s intricate fingerstyle and classical virtuosity, featuring a mix of original compositions and a reimagined cover of Neil Young’s “Sail Away.”

MEGADETH – MEGADETH
Megadeth’s self-titled final album is a landmark moment, fueled by the ferocious riffing showcased in early singles like “Tipping Point” and the punk‑edged “I Don’t Care”. The record also includes a striking cover of Metallica’s “Ride the Lightning;” a full‑circle moment given Dave Mustaine originally co‑wrote parts of the song before his departure from the band in the early ’80s, adding a layer of historic metal significance.

POPPY – EMPTY HANDS

Beck dropped a new 8-song compilation on streaming services on January 29th. Everybody’s Gotta Learn Sometime features previously released covers (and one original) of songs by Hank Williams, Daniel Johnston, John Lennon and more, alongside the title track which appeared on the Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind soundtrack and “Ramona”, the lone original, which was featured on the Scott Pilgrim vs. the World soundtrack.
