CCTV from Ponca City, Oklahoma, shows a woman police say tried to run down her ex. A driver in another car stopped her.
It happened about 9 a.m. on 23 September 2026 in the 3200 block of North 14th Street, outside Terpy’s gas station. Ruth Ann Harper, 61, of Ponca City, is the woman in the white car. Police say she and the man had just ended a relationship.
Officers were already looking for a welfare check on a man running near the station when hit and run calls came in. Video shows the white car pushing his vehicle into the street more than once, then leaving the grass and driving at him while he ran. She circled the building. Police said she went through a crowd. Nobody was hit.
As she closed on him, a bystander in a red SUV rammed her car from the side. Officers boxed her in and ordered her out at gunpoint. She was booked on multiple counts of assault with a dangerous weapon. Police said more charges can still come. The man was not hurt. Officers and other drivers were not hurt.
Nine days earlier, on 14 September, a Kay County judge dismissed a domestic abuse case against her. That charge came from an 16 August arrest on West Cleveland.
These are charges. Court has not ruled.
