The Minnesota United failed to get their first win of the year, losing 1-0 to 2021 expansion franchise Austin FC. Diego Fagundez scored the only goal in the 17th minute on a cross from Jared Stroud. Maple Grove’s Patrick Weah made his team debut as a Homegrown player in the 81st minute, nearly scoring on a header moment’s later. The United’s next game is Saturday at Colorado, before returning for two home games against Vancouver and Dallas.
